We are Antwerp Pride.

Antwerp Pride is five days of celebration, connection, and activism in the heart of Antwerp. Every year during the second week of August, we celebrate the diversity, inclusion, and strength of the LGBTQIA+ community. Behind this celebration is a nonprofit organization, a board of directors, and an army of volunteers who work year-round to create a city where everyone can be themselves.

About Us — preview

Our Mission

Why We Do This

Pride is a celebration. Pride is about coming together. Pride is love. And Pride is—perhaps today more than ever—also about resistance.

Freedom can never be taken for granted. Around the world, the rights of LGBTQIA+ people are under threat. That’s why we do three things, every single day.

Celebrate

We’re putting diversity in the spotlight in a loud and colorful way, making it visible right in the heart of the city.

Connect

We bring people together—both within and outside the community—and work to build a warm and welcoming community.

Stay Vigilant

We will continue to advocate for equal rights, because what has been achieved is never guaranteed.

From Stonewall to Today

Pride began in 1969, following the Stonewall riots, as both a protest and a celebration. We still carry that dual spirit with us today. Antwerp Pride has been organizing the event for more than 15 years, and in 2026 we’ll be holding our 19th edition.

We grew from a small delegation to more than 80 participants in the parade and over 200,000 visitors. Fearless, right from the start.

The People Behind Pride

Antwerp Pride is run by a board, a core team, and more than 350 volunteers. Under the leadership of Chair Geert Van Praet, they work together to organize the editorial team, the parade, the Pride Village, and the welcome area.

Fearless

Pride is more relevant than ever. In a world where equality is still far from a given, it needs to be more than just being present. Antwerp Pride 2026 invites you to discover, connect, and create space together for everyone’s story. To show yourself as you are, without doubt, without hesitation. To be open to others and grow in understanding. That is what it means to truly be present. Fearless.
