Music by the Water
Music by the Water
The sun sets over the Scheldt, the water catches the light, and the quays fill with people who have only one plan: to celebrate together. Muziek aan 't Water is the ultimate open-air evening when the city holds its breath for a moment and then goes all out.
A food zone that smells just like a summer evening should, drinks within easy reach, and a lineup that keeps you on your feet from the first song to the last. DJ sets that slowly get the crowd going, a Belgian pop star who really heats up the evening, and a finale where all of Flanders sings along to the lyrics.
Bring your friends, your significant other, your neighbors. This is the kind of night where you’ll want to arrive early and stay late. Space is limited, so be sure to get your ticket in time. Welcome to the waterfront.
Queer Families in Town
Queer Families in Town
Antwerp Pride is once again focusing strongly on connection, visibility, and inclusion this year. With both a heartwarming family program and an inspiring citywide initiative under the theme “Fearless,” AP invites everyone not only to experience Pride but also to actively help shape it. Following a successful first edition, Queer Families in Town returns as a staple of the program. What began as a new initiative quickly grew into a welcoming gathering place for (rainbow) families and anyone who feels drawn to an inclusive and safe environment. On Friday, August 7, Sint-Andriesplaats will transform into a place where young and old can enjoy themselves, play, and meet one another. The program combines substance and relaxation, with a focus on both fun and a sense of belonging. Children can let loose at an energetic kids’ disco, enjoy cozy storytime sessions, or participate in numerous creative activities.
One of the absolute highlights will undoubtedly be the show featuring Mega Mindy, who will provide a generous dose of magic, fun, and wonder. Bart Kaëll will wrap up Queer Families in Town with an atmospheric performance full of familiar classics and infectious enthusiasm, bringing young and old together for a festive finale. Queer Families in Town is more than just an afternoon full of activities. It’s a gathering place where families connect, share experiences, and feel welcome. A place where diversity is a given and where children grow up with the message that everyone can be themselves.
Pride in Town
Pride in Town
Antwerp Pride invites everyone to gather once again at the welcoming Sint-Andriesplaats for an inspiring Pride in Town experience hosted by Radio 2 DJ Karolien Debecker?.
This year’s theme, FEARLESS, challenges us to go beyond mere participation. It is essential that we listen to the diverse voices within our community, commit to supporting one another, and understand the unique experiences that shape our identities.
The LGBTQIA+ community continues to face discrimination, intolerance, and violence. It is essential that we come together, not only to celebrate our identities, but also to advocate for one another’s rights. By supporting one another, we strengthen our bonds and raise our collective voice in the fight for equality and justice.
Pride in Town provides an important space for dialogue and connection, fostering understanding and compassion as we reflect on the progress we’ve made and the work that still lies ahead. Every story counts, contributing to the rich history of our community and reminding us of our resilience in the quest for unity.
Let’s commit to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and can be themselves. When we come together, we have the opportunity not only to celebrate who we are, but also to advocate for a future in which every individual is respected and valued. Together we are stronger, and together we can bring about meaningful change.
Join us for an exciting evening filled with literary and musical performances and spoken word: a heartfelt call to action. We’ll wrap up the evening with an amazing DJ set that promises to keep the party going.
Antwerp Pride Parade
Pride is a form of protest, and at the heart of our Antwerp Pride activities is the Antwerp Pride Parade. Taking part in Antwerp Pride means something: We’re making our voices heard loud and clear—the rights of our community and minority groups in general are under increasing pressure, and we won’t stand for it! Together with our volunteers, civil society groups, organizations, partners, and allies, we’ll march through the city!
The Parade starts at 2:00 p.m. and immediately heads down to the quays near Brouwersvliet. The route then follows the Scheldt River to Sint-Jansvliet, where we turn… The route then follows the river, and at Sint-Jansvliet, where we’ll turn into Kloosterstraat, past the statue of Peter the Great—under whose reign Russia was still tolerant of homosexuality—into Scheldestraat, and then toward the Love United Festival grounds on Ledeganckkaai, where the party can really get started. If you’re coming to watch the parade, there are great views all along the route, so spread out along the route to cheer on your favorite parade floats! For the exact route, check out our map!
Please note: Just like last year, the Antwerp Pride Parade will be broadcast live. This is in collaboration with Proximus and can be viewed for free via Proximus Showcase, ATV, VRT Max, VTM Go, Go Play, HLN live, Q-Music, GVA.be, or one of our many other media partners. Our cameras will be set up at the Pedestrian Tunnel/Sint-Jansvliet, where the Parade leaves the Kaaien and turns onto Kloosterstraat.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE FILMED: make yourself unrecognizable when you reach the Pedestrian Tunnel/Sint-Jansvliet, or briefly leave the parade and rejoin it later on Kloosterstraat. The filming zone is marked on our map. Please note that these are only our cameras. Every year, there are several news crews filming the parade from various locations. If you don’t want to be filmed, please let them know politely; they will understand.
Love United Festival
This year, the main festival grounds are located on Cockerillkaai, in the southern part of the city along the river. This will be the official and central venue for Antwerp Pride during the Love United Festival on Saturday and the Closing Festival on Sunday.
So, do we have a party planned for Saturday? In Antwerp, we say: “Amai, not yet!” Two stages invite you to show off your best dance moves and party until midnight. Check out the lineup below. You’re welcome to join us starting at 3:00 p.m., and best of all: admission is completely free!
